How to Submit Digital Files

When you are ready for us to make your montage, you can upload your files to our private server and your originals never leave your possession. Here's what you need to do before sending us your files.

  1. Create a folder, name it with your last name and save it to a place you'll remember, like the desktop, or your documents folder.
  2. Make sure that all of your files are at least 1600 x 1200 pixels in a 4:3 ratio. This will ensure that your images remain crisp and clear through all animations and on any size screen. Files submitted at a lower resolution will appear softer in the final montage. We can accept a variety of file formats including GIF, JPG, TIF and PNG.
  3. Organize all of your pictures in the order you would like them to appear in the montage. You can use a numbering or lettering system, so the first picture will be 01, or a. If you end up needing to move a picture between two others in the system, just add an extra letter or number. For example, if you have a pic you want to appear between #9 and #10, then name it #9a and then when they are sorted, it will appear as 9, 9a, 10.
  4. If you have any text slides or videos that you want, include them in the folder and number them where you want them in the final montage. If you don't have a preference in the order they are displayed, then you can just make a folder of everything you want to use and we'll use our creativity to make the montage.
  5. When your folder is full, use a compression program to make the entire folder into one file. On a Windows computer, you can right-click on the folder and ask it to compress it using Zip. On a Mac, you can control-click or right-click the folder to compress and you can make it into a Zip, a .sit or a .sitx file.
  6. Put your compressed materials into your Dropbox, GDrive, Box or other cloud-based services like https://www.hightail.com. If you are unfamiliar with these services, I recommend signing up for a free Dropbox account from my link and I can walk you through sharing your files with me.
  7. If you are tech-savvy, you can use the upload forms below. After uploading, please send me an e-mail letting me know so I can retrieve them.
